1. Thomas finished his first year of preschool successfully!! He loves Children’s House Montessori in Reston and will continue there next year.
2. Matthew turned 16 months on July 21! He walks, runs and can say quite a few words: mommy (typically in a very loud shrill), daddy, hi, bye, ball, Opa, baba (milk), okay, oh-oh (very appropriately: when he drops things) and our favorite ‘cookie’. He has also mastered going up and down the stairs by himself quite well. He also loves playing in the basement.
3. Thomas has enjoyed spending time at home this summer. He went to camp at Frying Pan Park for a week in June. He has spent a lot of time with Grandma and Opa. The last two weeks he has been in camp at Children’s House. He is also doing swim lessons… which if you are familiar with Thomas you know is not an easy task. We all suffer during swim lessons!
4. We took a trip to Sesame Place in PA in June. It was fun though we decided that we are not an amusement park kind of family. I think between the four of us we went only went on about five different rides – Matthew could hav cared less where we were. Sadly, he was stuck in a stroller most of the time
5. Thomas went to his first baseball game in July and loved it! He saw the Nationals win against the Rockies. I think he enjoyed the junk food more than anything else. (And where was Matthew? He had a night out with Grandma and Opa!)
6. At the MITRE family picnic, Thomas decided to get his face painted… and he went all out. Check out the making of spiderman photos.
